By acting together, by building this unprecedented instrument, the first component of an authentic global governance, we are working for dialogue and peace,” Chirac added.Former EU Environment Minister Margot Wallstrom said, “Kyoto is about the economy, about leveling the playing field for big businesses worldwide.” Canadian Prime Minster Stephen Harper once dismissed UN’s Kyoto Protocol as a “socialist scheme.”

Steve, this whole climate thing is getting way out of hand. But it’s to be expected.
It’s gone viral. For example, I’ve even received emails from business associates with a little logo of a green foot print at the bottom with “CO2″ stampted across it with the tag line “Do you know what your carbon foot print looks like?” Come on!
Last I heard, human beings are carbon-based (as opposed to silicon based).
It’s getting to the point to where the existence of human beings is the problem (a la Shalaman’s “The Happening”). It’s pseudo-science gone bonkers.
The scientific questions notwithstanding ( I agree that much of this is based on junk science) what also interests me is who stands to gain power and\or money in this matter. Answer these questions and you’ll find out who is really driving the global warming train.
It’s time for people to re-discover…

Totally off in left field….just had to tell you every time I read the tagline to your blog’s name I crack up.
I once dismissed this for what it was/is, a thinly veiled power and money grab. I assumed, albeit incorrectly, that this was the same thinking as most other lucid people. But now I’m convinced that western civilization is lying comatose on it’s death bed and this is going to be our way of pulling our own proverbial plug.
